Frequently Asked Questions

Ever try to book a vacation and by the time you get to the checkout the hotel room has an unexpected $300 in fees?

We don’t like the unexpected either, which is why we’ve compiled a list of questions some of our clients have asked in the past.

If you don’t see what you need, don’t hesitate to reach and speak to us!

Websites & Digital Media

How does it work?

It starts with a conversation to review your needs and make sure we are a good match for each other.

A website is a big investment. That’s why only 50% is due upfront after signing off on the proposal and contract. Another 25% is due upon at the website first-look (date set by both of us), and the remaining 25% is due prior to the website launch.

I’ll be sending you a contract that outlines everything in detail and sets up our agreed-upon timeline after our first call.

What if I don't see what I need?

Our packages can be adjusted to accommodate all your company’s unique needs.

If you don’t see what you need, simply ask! We have professionals on our team who specialize in everything from website development, content writing, marketing strategy creation, on-page optimization & SEO, as well as photography and videography.

What's not included?

We try to include absolutely EVERYTHING we can into our packages. Some things, however, pop up and are outside the scope of our initial proposal and agreement.

This would include purchasing any stock photography, iconography, the creation of custom/branded charts/graphs/infographics, and custom designs.

These files are NEVER purchased or created without your prior consent and are turned over to you upon completion of the project to use in projects beyond the scope of the project.

Why all the bells and whistles? I don't need everything listed.

Sure, anyone can make you a website and send you on your way in a day.

In our experience, however, a successful website contains beautifully crafted content, images, branding, and is almost entirely hands-off for our clients once we agree to expectations.

We work to ensure your website doesn’t sit unknown on the internet and can be indexed and searched by Google. Afterall, what’s the point in spending all that money on a website if you arent seeing results?

I'm worried about the price... Do you have payment plans?

We require a 50% deposit upon the signing of the contract. 25% is due the day of your website’s first-look when we view the initial design. The remaining 25% is due prior to the website launch.

We will set up a website timeline and schedule so you are always in the know!

I have a Wix site / Squarespace template, can you work with that?

I can, however, I will always recommend transferring your domain to WordPress. Wix & Squarespace are very limited and do not rank as well with Google—and showing up on an online search is vital!

This service is included automatically, which means less technical work and worry for you!

Can you make future changes for me?

Of course! Let the Harford Designs’ team take over the stress of website building onto your site and creating new content. Changes start at $100 per hour.

If you are a current client, feel free to submit a ticket for any changes.

Can I make changes to the website myself?

Absolutely. Our websites are built with you in mind. You’ll be able to change text and images with ease. But we can always make changes to save you time.

All about Branding

What if I don't see what I need?

Not to worry. Our design packages are more like guides to our most popular services. But we are happy to work with you to achieve your design at a cost you can afford.

In addition to logos and branding, we can also create:

  • social media cover art, campaign images, & more.
  • flyers, handouts, placards.
  • booklets – any size.
  • magazine spreads.
  • financial reports.
  • business cards.
  • custom Microsoft Word & Powerpoint templates.
  • invitations – holiday, wedding, birthday, barbeque, more.
What if I have changes beyond the allocated revisions?

No sweat; we’ll get your design completed! Additional changes outside the allocated time are charged at an additional $100/h.

Can we meet in person to discuss the project?

Absolutely! In fact, I love meeting my clients face-to-face when we are both able. Not only does it help me understand the full scope of your project, but we also talk beyond work and get to know each other on a personal level.

Despite being located in Bel Air, Harford County, MD, I meet my clients where they are most comfortable. Aberdeen, Abingdon, Forest Hill, Fallston, White Marsh, Towson, Owings Mills, Baltimore, Annapolis. Your office. A coffee shop or restaurant. Heck, I’ve even driven to Delaware to meet clients.

If we can’t meet up in person, we can always arrange a video chat via Zoom or just chit chat over the phone.

I don't have any Adobe products. Can you create something in Microsoft?

If you plan on making changes yourself, I’m happy to create designs outside of Adobe Creative Suite in Microsoft Word or Powerpoint. I can also create PDFs that allow you to change content without manipulating formatting. This would be used for agenda or business card design.
