New company, New design
While life insurance isn’t particularly exciting, Nyasha Dixon had a clear mission: help the black and minority communities in Baltimore City, MD create a legacy for their children.
Project Goals
After a thorough Design Exploration & Presentation, we were able to pinpoint the design aesthetic on Nyasha’s new company.
- Nothing too trendy.
- Avoid logo imagery that was too literal.
- Play on words if possible.
- Clean magazine-esque typography was approved for use.
- Stay within her predetermined color palette.
Our Process
We explored several options with all these notes in mind.
The approved first draft kept a simple style, utilizing the various weights of the Montserrat font.
The circle incorporated the recommended colors and faded into each other, representing a lifecycle but with no apparent end.
Other variations explored a logomark that could represent the R in recompense; a circle with clean start and finish for each color—almost like a life preserver; and the magazine style type without a logomark.
The approved version was our favorite too, Nyasha!
